NanoLaser ist...

… the gentle way to remove your lens

Cataract Diagnosis

Cataract diagnosis or considering a refractive lens exchange?

Don’t settle for standard treatment — choose state-of-the-art laser technology.

Cataract

Cataract, commonly known as “gray cataract,” is the most widespread eye condition worldwide. It usually occurs after the age of 50. Early signs include cloudy or blurry vision (as if looking through a foggy veil), light sensitivity (especially while driving at night), or visual disturbances when reading.

Once the cataract progresses, even new glasses can no longer improve the patient’s vision. In a microsurgical procedure, the cloudy natural lens is replaced with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL).

Refractive Lens Exchange is particularly popular among the “mid-age” group (35–50 years old) who wish to achieve freedom from glasses. In this procedure, the natural but still clear lens can be removed and replaced with an artificial lens that corrects refractive errors.

Regardless of whether a cloudy or clear lens is being removed, most procedures still use ultrasound technology. In this method, the lens is broken up before being aspirated.

Many physicians in Germany now offer the gentler NanoLaser technique for additional protection of your eyes.

Unlike ultrasound, the NanoLaser does not subject the eye to stress factors such as vibrations, heat, or high energy levels. Instead, it gently fragments the lens — making it the ideal technology, especially for refractive lens exchange.

Patient Experiences with the NanoLaser Treatment

More than 100,000 patients have already experienced the benefits of this well-established method. An increasing number of people are choosing this gentle treatment to protect and preserve their eye health. This is reflected in the large number of positive reviews. See for yourself!

“Only the best for my eyes! The risk of developing eye infections is minimized thanks to the single-use handpieces. The NanoLaser technology is much gentler. I had the surgery in the morning and was already seeing clearly by the afternoon. As the inventor of the technology, I would always choose to have surgery with the NanoLaser again. Both of my eyes were operated on in 2014.”

Mr. R. Thyzel
@Patent holder of NanoLaser technology

“Finally free from glasses! I had been planning a refractive lens exchange for a long time but was concerned about the strain on my cornea with the standard surgical method. The NanoLaser procedure convinced me with its low energy input into the eye and the resulting protection of the cornea. Every morning, I’m thrilled with my brilliant, eagle-sharp vision. I’ve worn contact lenses almost my entire life, and now I see better than ever before. You feel so much younger when you can read the menu aloud to friends who’ve forgotten their reading glasses at dinner. I can truly recommend this treatment.”

Mrs. A. Thyzel
@Managing Director, A.R.C. Laser

“I’m thrilled to see colors clearly, vividly, and brightly again. You clearly and convincingly recommended the NanoLaser method for both of my eyes […]. My vision has significantly improved [as a result of the surgery]. I can read newspapers and books without glasses from morning until afternoon and perform most of my daily tasks. […] I’m thrilled to see colors clearly, vividly, and brightly again […]. I’m deeply grateful for the smooth surgery and the excellent outcome.”

Mrs. M.H., 73 years old
@Retired teacher

“I no longer need glasses for any of my daily activities. I am 100% satisfied with the result. I feel like I can see better than ever before. The surgery I was initially afraid of went perfectly. I had no pain and could already see better the day after the operation. I read a lot (newspapers, books), and I work on the computer — for all these activities I no longer need glasses. […] Only for very small print (e.g., on cosmetic bottles) do I occasionally use simple store-bought reading glasses.”

Mrs. H.C., 80 years old
@Retired teacher

“The healing process was perfect. Both surgeries went very well — I’m sure the NanoLaser played a major role. The healing […] was optimal. The gray haze is gone, color perception is clear again, and light sensitivity has decreased noticeably. […] I can fully recommend this surgery with Dr. Gabler.”

Mr. K.R., 66 years old
@Graduate engineer

“I can only recommend your practice. Overall, I am very satisfied with the result of the treatment […]. For me, the outcome was most important, which is why I chose the [Nano] laser treatment and the premium lens. To make my decision, I reviewed all the brochures, but the decisive factor was my consultation with Dr. Gabler […]. I wanted a good, long-term solution. […] The entire practice staff was friendly, competent, and compassionate. […] I’m doing great and only use light reading glasses (1.5) for very small text. […] I can only recommend your practice […].”

Mr. H.P., 51 years old
@Banker

“I’ll do anything for good eyesight. I first learned about the procedure from the patient information flyer: NanoLaser = precise and gentle surgical method. […] Then came the consultation with Dr. Gabler, whom I trusted to perform this complex surgery. I’ll do anything for good eyesight. Everything went perfectly. I would recommend it any time.”

Mrs. F.G., 75 years old
@Former wholesale merchant

“I’m very satisfied with my cataract surgery. I decided on the NanoLaser surgery. The stated advantages — shorter healing time, no use of ultrasound energy […], and the single-use laser probe that minimizes infection risk — fully convinced me and were completely confirmed. My distance vision has been restored. I only need glasses for reading small print. I am very satisfied with my cataract surgery […].”

Mrs. Th.S., 69 years old
@Former senior IT consultant

“I’m happy to go about my daily life with clear vision and without glasses. After a detailed discussion with Dr. Gabler, I decided on NanoLaser surgery and the premium lens. My heartfelt thanks to the doctors and the entire practice team — I’m happy to manage my daily life with clear vision and without glasses. For extended reading, I use light reading glasses, but everything else is fine [without glasses].”

How does the innovative NanoLaser procedure work?

The NanoLaser technique is based on a concept introduced more than 30 years ago — using laser energy to dissolve the cloudy lens.

With the NanoLaser procedure, this concept has now been successfully realized.

Ultrashort laser pulses in the nanosecond range (0.000000004 seconds) are generated by an Nd:YAG laser and completely absorbed within the titanium tip of the laser probe. This creates a tiny flash of light (plasma) inside the hollow tip, which produces the necessary energy to fragment the lens. The lens material can then be easily aspirated.

"A problem in ophthalmic surgery — as in many technological areas — is the lack of openness to revolutionary innovations. You can only judge new procedures by trying them. I have done so and am very satisfied with my decision."

Prof. Dr. Gangolf Sauder
@Charlottenklinik for Ophthalmology — February 2021

"We introduced NanoLaser technology in Munich in 2015. It has since become our first choice for cataract and RLE surgeries. Less energy means less tissue stress, fewer inflammatory reactions, and a smoother postoperative course. NanoLaser has truly been a worthwhile upgrade. I would choose it again and recommend it to my patients anytime."

Prof. Dr. med. Amir-Mobarez Parasta
@München Eye MVZ GmbH, Eye Center Munich — February 2021

"Cataract surgery with the CETUS has been the preferred method for demanding PREMIUM intraocular lens patients for years. The decisive advantage for the eye is gentle treatment and optimal hygiene. The use of disposable parts in surgery ensures the highest reliability and verifiable results."

Dr. med. Alexander Meyenberg
@Eye Center am Bollwerk, Bern — February 2021

"Using less energy in the eye through NanoLaser technology means faster recovery."
